After eight long and hard months, finding the location, trying to explain that Bellydancing is in fact a form of expression and a dance for the entire family as well as erase the misconception it has had in the past, Graziela and Adriana are very proud of themselves, because Muses Bellydance School is the best deserved award and price for their efforts and challenges.
Both are teaching in Cork, but they have two styles completely different from each other in their dancing and teaching. Adriana, from Colombia, is being teaching in cork for the past five months but she has been dancing for fifteen years, taught in Curazao and Miami. Graziela, from Brazil, is living in Cork eight years, teaching for three, and is also a professional teacher.
They have had an amazing success with people being interested in their classes and have not had the time or space available until now. They currently have more than 120 students between them. So, why not unite forces? well, here they are!
This school is the result of mixed cultures, passion for the dance and the belief in a better quality of life.
But, what do we know about Bellydancing? Bellydance emphasizes the undulation and rhythmic isolation of the torso, abdomen and hips, as well as the expressive use of the hands, arms, face and head. The sinuous movements of belly dance glorify any shape of the female body.
Dancing as a form of expression is also alleviating for the mind, body and soul. A mother, a daughter, grandmother a child! They want their school to be your school, your home way from home. Whether you just want to relax to the rhythms of the music and the shimmies of your hips, or perhaps your dreams to become a professional bellydancer or even a part of their staff as an instructor, these are the different options they offer to you.
They welcome women of all shapes and ages to come and enjoy their School and rejoice in the art of Bellydance. With Graziela you can learn the Tribal Fusion, a combination of different movements which blends Romany, Flamenco and Indian dances. You’ll improve your flexibility and coordination. Latin Bellies: from the streets of Latin America come this fast-paced bellydance of latin-arabic rhythms. Wise Bellies: For more mature ladies that choose dance a hobby. It is a much slower paced class. Stitching Bitches: For the students who want to make their own costumes and designs.
Adriana is teaching Egyptian Classical: Egyptian dance includes several variations, Oriental, folk traditions and “folk troupe” with the glossy and glamorous dresses. American Cabaret: This style is a combination, influenced by dances in Turkey, Egypt Lebanon, Armenia… and leaves great freedom for personal creativity. Hip Hop Bellydance: Mixing techniques, perfect for girls who love both dances. Belly2Abs: To flatten those tummies and use bellydance techniques to lose inches on your waist.
Both will teach the Props Class: learn to dance with a prop, such as zills, veils (up to 7), swords, candelabrums, fire-dancing canes and fans. And Belly Study: Students of Muses are permitted to use certain times of their studios to practise at no charge.
In addition to all of this Flamenco classes with Bety an amazing and powerful teacher, as well as Acting Classes , with Nina, as a support for their students and events.
Nina, a professional actress with more than twenty years of experience in Brazil, Spain and Ireland, is the teacher who introduces the student of bellydance to liberate their fears and bringing out the emotions with simple techniques. This is very helpful for everyone’s ordinary life, to get more confident in ourselves and to become a professional dancer.
The classes are 45 euros per month. How many things can you learn and enjoy!!!
This is very good news not only because we are having more and more diversity in Cork as well as many different options and most important positive activities to be part of. This is also an inspiration for anyone coming to Ireland with a hope and a dream, because just like Graziela and Adriana, you can make your dreams come true. Let this be a ray of hope for all of you. If you work hard and have the motivation to run your own business, you go and get it!
In a nutshell, Good for all the team! And the Best of Luck to the MUSES BELLYDANCE SCHOOL.
