Become a successful person with NLP

NLP is a powerful, practical and precise approach towards allowing you to achieve your goals.
NLP enables us to learn and identify how we create our own experiences.
How:
• We perceive, filter and evaluate what's going on as we interact with others
• The thoughts we think, moment to moment &
• The language we use with ourselves and others &
• The things we do now in this present moment
Do we make powerful choices in the moment or do we react to events and circumstances around us?
Where did NLP come from?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, began in the early 1970s when a mathematician called Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder asked themselves a simple but fascinating question: "What is it that makes the difference between somebody who is merely competent at any given skill, and somebody who excels at the same skill?"

So NLP studies the difference between average performance and exceptional performance in all areas of life, be it on the sports field, in the business world, or in personal situations. From these studies, NLP has identified the attitudes, behaviours and thinking patterns exhibited by people who perform well in any given situation, thereby forming templates from which others can learn.
Essentially, NLP is a commonsense system of everyday psychology that is concerned with learning how to think and communicate more effectively by studying best practice in experts and high-performers and applying the same patterns of behaviours to other situations.

A typical example of the thinking skills used in the application of NLP were used by creative geniuses such as Walt Disney (MBA course, The Open University, 2000). When directing a new animation project he switched effortlessly between the thinking modes of dreamer, realist and critic.

NLP has also been defined as the study of the structure of subjective experience. NLP studies the patterns (programming) created in the interaction between the brain (neuro), language (linguistic) and the body. Whereas main stream psychology studies average or ‘dysfunctional’ performance, NLP instead focuses on the patterns of genius.

Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP is a set of therapeutic techniques which we can use to change thought patterns and behaviours. It has its origins in the study of the world's most effective therapists, including gestalt therapist Fritz Perls, the innovative family therapist Virginia Satir and in particular the father of modern hypnotherapy, psychiatrist Dr Milton H Erickson. Commonalities and differences were found amongst these great people changers and the secrets of the language patterns and thought patterns they used were distilled. What came out of these studies was a set of tools from which change can occur more quickly and easily than ever thought possible.
The field of NLP has gone past these initial accomplishments to study the patterns, behaviours and beliefs of successful business people and those with rewarding relationships - of people that maintain their correct weight easily and of incredibly persuasive people. What NLP has found is that people that succeed all use the same kind of techniques to communicate with themselves and others! They have the same "mental tool set" that we all have, they just use them in different ways.
This discovery started the development of NLP as a powerful vehicle for achieving change and outstanding results.
While NLP initially evolved from excellence in the world of therapy, early innovators in the field soon recognised its applications in many other fields. This has led to NLP being incorporated into Business, Coaching, Education, Personal Development, and Sports Performance!
Applications include leadership, management development, generation of high performance teams, customer service and sales, impactful training and development, executive / business / life coaching, sports coaching, education, teaching, and health.
NLP makes use of this "communication with yourself" to help you make change more easily, to get what you want.
But it is important to be aware that Neuro Linguistic Programming can also be used for negative purposes (mental manipulation) so always be careful when dealing with it, and make sure that you are not being taken advantage of.
