
Firstly you have to look in your area, as while many schools may have a waiting list, but in preference is given to children living locally. It also makes it much easier for them to arrive on time each day!
You probably want teachers be aware of non-nationals, so you have to look for schools with some experience in working with children of immigrant parents. It will be very good if the school you choose has a teacher's assistant in the class and this person should be very passionate about helping your child to feel good and accepted.
It is a good idea to ask the school how many non national, or children of immigrants will study in the same class as your child and what country they are from. Don't worry about the language barrier, it will blow away, as soon as child is feeling free to communication. You probably wouldn’t recognise your child in 6 months time!
