
Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, established under the National Tourism Development Authority Act, 2003, brings together and builds on the functions previously discharged by Bord Failte and CERT. The organisation provides strategic and practical support to develop and sustain Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourist destination. Fáilte Ireland works in strategic partnership with tourism interests to support the industry in its efforts to be more competitive and more profitable and to help individual enterprises to enhance their performance. Bar Skills Course, Culinary Skills Course, Restaurant Skills Course are available for you. To be eligible for a place you must be an EU citizen or person with refugee or residency status (application has to be supported by a letter from the Department of Justice and a copy of their Green Book/ GNIB card). Open Interviews held every Monday morning between 0 – 12 (Except Bank holidays) at Failte Ireland Training Centre, Albert Road, Cork
These courses are designed for job seekers who are registered with FÁS and for mature people. If you are accepted for training, a weekly training grant and travel allowance will be paid to you throughout your course. Rates are linked to the social welfare rates so that your benefits are maintained during training. If you are 17 year old you receive a grant of €75.75 weekly. If you are over 18, you receive €140.80 weekly or the equivalent to your entitlement on social welfare.
