If you are an immigrant, congratulations! You may say why? Maybe your feelings are very different at this moment, sad and anxious for all the new things, lost because don’t understand the Irish language and their costumes, but you’ll need to change your thought.
You need to know, just in case you have forgotten, that you are a brave person because you left your home, your family and began another life in a different country far from yours.
If you are an immigrant it’s because you want to try to change your life and maybe to help someone to live better and for that, you have to be proud by yourself.
If you are just arrived, the most important thing to do is to find a room in a flat. There are different ways for this: You can go to the Flat Finder office, in Oliver Plunkett Street (they give you a list with all information about the price and address); on the internet at www.daft.ie or www.let.ie ; and don’t forget to see the adds in the supermarket doors, in the internet bar, in the university and on the Evening Echo newspaper.
You need your private space to feel a little bit at home. When you start to look for a job, at the end of the day, it’s better for you to have your own place to relax and ready yourself for the next day. An address is also important because, you need one to secure your PPS number, without this number, you can’t open a bank account.
